Performance in the supply chain operations regarding the management of fleet operations and its fuel consumption have been one of the most critical concerns of large private and government organizations. Organisations are adapting more efficient, environmental friendly and safer fuel and fleet management systems considering the high cost of fuel and the associated impacts on environment. This Paper reviews and analyses the fuel supply chain using Monte Carlo Simulation to optimise the fuel supply chain and evaluate the feasibility of future development alternatives in fleet operations for large organisation. Considering the case of a local government organisation in Australia, this paper illustrates important issues, considerations in cost and risk management of fuel supply operations.
