New Haven, CT Crime Data, Year 2006

This dataset contains crime data for the city of New Haven, Connecticut (USA). Initial data (Excel format) was provided by the New Haven Police Department for use by the New Haven Independent, a non-profit online news service. The New Haven Independent subsequently geocoded the files (text format) and used them for a crime map website.

The files on DataHub contain public crime data--this data excludes crimes involving minors and/or sexual assault.

The files are of 2 types:

  1. Excel files consisting of the "raw incidents"
  2. Text files with geocoding (latitude, longitude)

*There is a 3rd type of file, not included, consisting of the incidents that failed to geocode. Failure to geocode is usually due to misspellings, lack of full street address information, and/or streets not available for the geocoder used at the time.

Note: For 2006, only the months of October, November, and December are available.
