The primary objective of the present study was to highlight the major environmental hazards facing the coastal wetlands (Manzala and Burullus) of the Nile Delta using remote sensing. Natural and human-induced changes have been recorded in coincidence with global climate change and increased population stresses. Wetland areas and shoreline position have experienced drastic changes. Coastal zone management of this region requires public awareness of these concerns.
