OpenStreetMap Editor API

The "OpenStreetMap API" is designed to support OpenStreetMap editor software reading/writing geodata. It can be used for reading small quantities of data from the OSM database, but many developers may find the planet downloads and region extracts more appropriate.
Also note that this is not an API for embedding maps on websites in javascript. For this you should look-up "Leaflet" or "OpenLayers".
