In order to reveal the effects of vegetation cover changes on runoff and evaporation at basin scale, the coupled model SSiB4T/TRIFFID is employed to conduct numerical simulations of water balance under different types of vegetation cover and the dynamic changes of runoff and evaporation in the process of vegetation succession over two tributaries of the Yangtze River.
