SIGNIFICADO DE LA REFORMA UNIVERSITARIA DE 1918

Este artículo muestra como los ideales de Democracia, Republicanismo, Socialismo o Liberalismo, toman cuerpo social en la modernidad y los principios Reformistas encuentran en los universitarios un sujeto social que los mantiene en alto. La rebeldía juvenil que dio lugar a los hechos de Córdoba, fue la convergencia de una Argentina que ingresaba al mundo moderno y una Universidad que se negaba a cambiar. Y sin agotarse en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, los estudiantes construyeron un programa político que proponía una nueva Universidad para construir una nueva sociedad. Sin duda, el reformismo se constituyó en una identidad y una utopía de un pensamiento alternativo en Latinoamérica.

Abstract This article shows how the ideals of Democracy, Republicanism, Socialism or Liberalism take social body in modernity as well as how reformist principles find in university students a social subject that upholds such principles. The students rebellion that caused the events in Córdoba was the convergence of an Argentina that was entering the modern world and a university refusing to change. The movement did not exhaust within the Argentine University of Córdoba but it expanded to build a political program proposing a new university to construct a new society. Undoubtedly, reformism became an identity and a utopia of alternative thinking in Latin America.
