Glucose dehydroabietate was synthesized directly from glucose and dehydroabietic acid in the presence of KOH with propanediol as the reaction solvent. The effect of reaction conditions e.g. temperature, time, catalyst amounts etc. on the yields of product has been investigated. The structure and property of product have been characterized. The product exhibits good surface activity
